I have a feeling that this is spot-on - and the longer the Democratic nomination process goes on, the more sullied Obama will be. If he's ultimately the nominee, that will not serve him in the general election against John McCain, who appeals to the independants because of his history of being outspoken and a "maverick". If Obama shows that his will be more of the same (at least in terms of the campaigning), then the average voter will probably lean toward the side with experience.

The Democratic party has not lost an opportunity to commit hara-kiri in a long time.
The choices between Obama, Clinton, and McCain are rapidly turning to non-choices as the three start to blur together in the public facing political brawl. Not to suggest that their actual positions are not different, in some cases significantly, but if they are perceived to be knife fighters then choosing among them becomes an exercise in who "feels" right -- wait a minute, we've been down this road.
Bah. I'm voting for Kodos.
